Terms & Conditions
1. About Us
These Terms & Conditions govern the sale of goods by Lordans Timber through our website and other sales channels.
By placing an order with Lordans Timber, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract to purchase goods from us.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion.
3. Products
We supply timber, sheet materials, landscaping products, insulation, aggregates, building materials and associated products.
Whilst we make every effort to ensure product descriptions and images are accurate, colours, sizes, textures and finishes may vary slightly from those shown.
Natural products such as timber, sleepers, fencing and landscaping materials may contain natural variations, knots, splits, colour differences and grain patterns. These are not considered defects.
4. Pricing
All prices displayed on our website are in Pounds Sterling (£).
Prices may include or exclude VAT as clearly indicated on the website.
We reserve the right to change prices at any time before an order is accepted.
If an obvious pricing error occurs, we reserve the right to cancel the order and refund any payment made.
5. Orders
Submitting an order does not guarantee acceptance.
An order becomes legally binding only once we have accepted it and confirmed it for processing.
We reserve the right to:
- refuse any order;
- limit quantities;
- cancel orders due to stock shortages;
- cancel orders where incorrect pricing or product information has been displayed.
6. Payment
Payment must be received before goods are dispatched.
Accepted payment methods are displayed during checkout.
Payment processing is handled securely by authorised third-party payment providers.
7. Delivery
We deliver throughout our advertised delivery areas using our own vehicles.
Delivery dates are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
Heavy building materials require suitable access for delivery vehicles.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure:
- safe and adequate access for delivery vehicles;
- someone is available to receive the delivery where required;
- delivery instructions provided are accurate;
- sufficient unloading space is available.
If delivery cannot be completed because access is unsuitable or unavailable, additional delivery charges may apply.
Risk in the goods passes to the customer upon delivery.
8. Pallets and Heavy Materials
Many products are delivered by pallet or heavy goods vehicle.
The customer is responsible for ensuring the delivery location is suitable for heavy vehicles and pallet unloading.
Kerbside delivery may apply where it is unsafe or impractical for the driver to unload elsewhere.
Drivers are not obliged to carry goods into buildings or over obstacles.
9. Collection
Where collection is available, customers must bring proof of purchase and suitable transport capable of safely carrying the goods.
Responsibility for securing goods during transport rests with the customer.
10. Inspection of Goods
Customers should inspect goods as soon as reasonably possible after delivery or collection.
Any shortages, damage or incorrect items should be reported within 48 hours.
Failure to notify us within a reasonable time may affect our ability to investigate claims.
11. Returns
Consumers may have statutory cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, subject to applicable exceptions.
Returns must be authorised by Lordans Timber before goods are returned.
Returned goods should:
- be unused;
- be in their original condition;
- be in original packaging where possible;
- be accompanied by proof of purchase.
Special-order, bespoke, cut-to-size or made-to-order products cannot normally be returned unless faulty.
Collection charges may apply to returned goods.
12. Faulty Goods
Nothing within these Terms affects your statutory rights.
If goods are faulty, damaged or not as described, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Where appropriate, we may repair, replace or refund the goods in accordance with UK consumer law.
13. Trade Accounts
Approved trade account customers must pay invoices in accordance with agreed payment terms.
Late payments may result in:
- suspension of credit facilities;
- interest on overdue amounts were permitted by law;
- recovery costs where applicable.
14. Retention of Title
Ownership of goods remains with Lordans Timber until payment has been received in full.
Until ownership passes, customers must store goods separately and take reasonable care of them.
15. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- any liability which cannot legally be excluded.
Subject to the above, Lordans Timber shall not be liable for:
- indirect or consequential loss;
- loss of profits;
- business interruption;
- delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Our total liability shall not exceed the value of the goods purchased unless otherwise required by law.

We aim to keep our website available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

17. Intellectual Property
All website content, including logos, text, graphics, product images and design, is owned by or licensed to Lordans Timber.

Our use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy.
19. Force Majeure
We shall not be responsible for delays or failure to perform obligations caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, industrial action, supply chain disruption, vehicle breakdowns, fire, flood, pandemic, government restrictions or other unforeseen events.
